— In the latest edition of WWE Heat, Carlito takes on Snitsky. He jobs to him in a little under three minutes. Also, the Triple Threat No. 1 Contenders Match for the World Tag Team Titles between The Highlanders, London & Kendrick, and Rhodes & Holly takes place on this episode. This match was originally put up on WWE.com on Thursday. The other match taking place on the show pits The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. two locals. You can watch the Heat broadcast at this link. Matches between Super Crazy & Charles “The Hammer” Evans, and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan & Atlas DaBone that took place at Monday’s Raw taping don’t air on the program. They both lost their respective matches to the two veterans. Evans & DaBone are two muscular guys currently under developmental contracts in OVW who have been getting looks from management in recent weeks.
— As reported earlier, Ryan Wilson, a 6-9, 280 pound wrestler working under the name “Jacob Duncan” in OVW was cut last week. At one point over the summer, there were talk of calling him up to the SmackDown roster to eventually work a progam with Undertaker. When Taker was out with an injury, the two giants did an in-ring practice session prior to a SmackDown taping and he gave WWE his personal thumbs up on Wilson. Vince was thinking about doing vignettes to introduce him and lead him to a winter feud with Undertaker. But when Taker returned from his injury, they pushed Duncan to the side so he could go back to working with Batista again. At the time of his cut, he was getting a major push in OVW. No word yet on why they suddenly gave up on him, but it seems like they just didn’t have anything for him and spots on SmackDown are really limited.
— Batista ranks in at number one in this week’s edition of the POWER 25 on WWE.com.
