First Two Names Advance in King of the Ring Tournament, Updated Bracket

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw the first two matches in the opening round of the King of the Ring tournament.

Early in the night, Samoa Joe narrowly won a hard-hitting battle of the bruisers between the “King of Swing”, Cesaro, forcing him to submit to his patented rear naked choke.

In the second of two matches, former Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander picked up a big victory over Sami Zayn, delivering the Lumbar Check to advance to the quarterfinals.

Samoa Joe will now advance to face the winner of Drew McIntyre vs. Ricochet, while Cedric Alexander will await the victor of The Miz vs. Baron Corbin. Both matches will take place next Monday night on Raw.
