Impact News: New TNA Champion, Kong Returns, Angle Wrestles

Last night, TNA hit the “reset” button once again and presented the first edition of Impact Wrestling on Destination America. The show was certainly eventful, with multiple title changes, multiple heel turns, a wild brawl to start the show and more. Here are the main news items coming out of the show:

– In the main event, Bobby Lashley recaptured the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Bobby Roode. The title change came after Roode was betrayed by his longtime friend Eric Young. Also during the match, MVP formed a new stable with heel turns by Samoa Joe and Low Ki.

– Kurt Angle announced he was leaving his position as the TNA authority figure and wrestled MVP in a street fight.

– Former TNA Knockout Kong returned for the first time in almost 5 years and went face to face with Havoc.

– Austin Aries captured the X Division championship from Low Ki.
